Applications are invited for a PhD position at the Embedded and Networked Systems (ENS) group, Delft University of Technology. TU Delft is a world-class university in engineering and technology, located at the beautiful city of Delft.
Topic: The successful applicant will work at the nexus of AI/ML-based optimization techniques and wireless networks in collaboration with top-notch industry labs, in the context of the European project DAEMON. This is a large-scale research project focusing on Network Intelligence for Adaptive and Self-learning Mobile Networks, with industry partners such as Telefonica, Nokia Bell Labs, NEC Europe, and others.
Environment: The PhD position is in the ENS group, which is part of the Software Technology Department in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (EEMCS), and will be supervised primarily by Dr. G. Iosifidis. The PhD researcher will join a very active, stimulating and diverse environment; and will have the opportunity to be involved in both theoretical (optimization algorithms) and experimental work (data-driven and/or testbeds), and collaborate with the recently launched Do-IoT lab (Prof. Fernando Kiupers).
Candidate Profile: Graduates applying for this position should have the following:
Strong motivation to tackle challenging research problems
B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
Strong interest in mathematics and/or testbeds; prior research experience and publications is a plus.
Excellent academic results (First-class honours or equivalent)
Very good level of spoken and written English

The Department of Software Technology is one of the leading European departments in research and academic education in computer science, employing over 150 people.
